I’m going to show you guys how to submit your XML site map to Google in under two minutes using Yoast. I’m going to assume you’ve already installed Yoast, and I’m going to assume you already have a Google search console account set up.
Once that’s done, click on SEO down here. It’ll take you to the Yoast dashboard. And then we’re going to click on features, XML Sitemaps. And then click on see the XML Sitemap. So Yoast generates this for you. This index here is what you’re going to add. And folded into this is post site map page, site map, and category site map. So as you build out your page, your site, it’s going to automatically add these different site maps to your index. So that’s really convenient.
So we’ve copied that. We’re going to go over to my Google search console, I’ve clicked on site maps. And then we get add a new site map. I’ve already submitted one, this is for lions dev shop, but we’re going to paste that in, and then hit submit and you’re done. They should say HTTPS for you. I’m on a demo, you know local instance here.

But just do that, get it done. Don’t read too much more about it. Don’t start researching what it is. Just if you don’t know, come back to it later. But it’s kind of necessary but insufficient. It’s not going to magically shoot you to the top of search results, but it needs to get done. But yeah, do this and then get on with more productive things like inbound marketing or however else you’re building out your business. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments. Thanks for watching.
